Elon Musk released information stating that Ukraine violated the established rules for operating the Starlink satellite internet by using it to carry out offensive attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the entrepreneur, the technical capability for such actions was disabled last week.

Difference between Starlink and Starshield

He explained that Starshield is a separate system under the control of the US government. It is Washington that determines the order and conditions for the use of this technology.

Critical role in the defence system

Despite the restrictions, Musk emphasised that Starlink remains an extremely important element of Ukraine's defence system. He recalled that this network played a key role in the first days of the full-scale war, when Russia destroyed or suppressed the country's other communication channels.
