Appeal to the founder of SpaceX

Hillary Clinton, who served as US Secretary of State and ran for president as the Democratic Party candidate in 2016, publicly appealed to Elon Musk. She emphasised the need to continue supporting Ukraine, reminding that Ukrainians are fighting for their lives and freedom against the aggressor.

In her social media posts, Clinton shared a link to an article by the Financial Times. The publication states that restrictions on Starlink operations and gaps in intelligence data caught Ukraine off guard. It also notes that Moscow is ignoring the "energy truce" declared by Donald Trump.

Reminder of the past

In her appeal, Clinton drew Musk's attention to his personal experience. She reminded him that he himself was once an outsider and never stopped defending his ideas. On this basis, she called on him not to turn a blind eye to the needs of Ukrainians.

Technical restrictions and consequences

According to sources in the US Department of Defence who told CBS News, on the night of 14 October, SpaceX unexpectedly restricted the operation of Starshield military terminals while in motion. This decision negatively impacted the functioning of interceptors and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a conversation with Piers Morgan, described the events as a serious mistake that could cost human lives. The head of state requested that communications be restored.
