Criticism of energy deal

Kamala Harris, who served as US Vice President and was Donald Trump's opponent in the presidential election, publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the possibility of concluding a deal to purchase Russian fuel. In her words, such an initiative carries the risk that proceeds from the sale of energy resources will be directed towards financing Russia's military actions against Ukraine.

The former Vice President outlined her position in a post on the social media platform X.

Accusations of inaction

In her statement, Harris placed responsibility for the sharp rise in diesel and petrol prices in the US on the head of state and his foreign policy decisions, specifically the conflict with Iran.

«Дональд Трамп і його війна в Ірані - ось хто винен у шалених цінах на дизельне паливо та бензин у нашій країні. Його останній хід - закупівля палива у свого друга Володимира Путіна - тхне слабкістю і допоможе профінансувати російську війну, але анітрохи не полегшить життя американських сімей» (Donald Trump and his war in Iran - that is who is to blame for the crazy prices of diesel and petrol in our country. His latest move - buying fuel from his friend Vladimir Putin - reeks of weakness and will help finance the Russian war, but will not in any way ease the lives of American families), she emphasised.

Appeal to voters and support for Kyiv

The politician emphasised that American society needs a leader who truly cares about the well-being of citizens. She also underlined the importance of international solidarity with Ukraine.

«Український народ заслуговує на союзників, які стануть на його бік у боротьбі за вільну, демократичну та незалежну державу» (The Ukrainian people deserve allies who will stand by their side in the fight for a free, democratic and independent state), Kamala Harris noted.
