Status of bandwidth restrictions

The speed limits for Starlink satellite internet used by Ukrainian forces have not been fully lifted at this time. This was stated by Serhiy (Flash) Beskrestnov, an adviser on defence technology.

Technical causes of speed fluctuations

According to the expert, no official lifting of limits by the operator has been recorded. However, he noted that there are isolated situations where the connection speed temporarily exceeds the established norms.

«Наразі ми не фіксуємо зняття обмежень у СтарЛінк. Бувають окремі випадки, коли СтарЛінк може рухатися дещо швидше за обмеження, але це, вірогідно, наслідки роботи алгоритму СпейсХ, або особливі умови використання, а не зняття обмеження» (At present, we are not recording the lifting of restrictions in Starlink. There are separate cases where Starlink may move slightly faster than the restrictions, but this is likely the result of the SpaceX algorithm's operation, or special usage conditions, rather than the lifting of restrictions), Beskrestnov explained.

Thus, the expert emphasised that possible temporary speed spikes are determined by the internal logic of SpaceX systems' operation or specific operating conditions, rather than the removal of restrictions.
