Ukrainian troops narrow Oskil bridgehead despite Russian attempts to infiltrate Kupiansk

Enemy attempts to break through to the rear and the city

Russian occupiers continue active attempts to penetrate the rear of Ukrainian defensive lines in the Kharkiv region, as well as directly into the city of Kupiansk. This was stated by Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group.

According to him, despite the generally low intensity of combat operations, the enemy is deliberately carrying out deep infiltrations. Such actions have been recorded on the South-Slobodian, Velykoburlo, and Kupiansk directions.

The officer noted that the enemy is carrying out such manoeuvres both to create an illusion of presence and with the real intention of consolidating on captured sections. Occasionally, Russian groups manage to penetrate Kupiansk from the north.

Narrowing of the bridgehead on the Oskil

Meanwhile, the situation on the Oskil River is gradually changing in favour of Ukrainian defenders. The occupation bridgehead on the western bank of the river, located between the settlements of Dvorichna and Kupiansk, is shrinking in size due to the active actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Commanders emphasise that they are not yet naming specific deadlines for the complete elimination of this bridgehead, but the process of expelling the enemy is ongoing.

Ukrainian military personnel continue to hold back attempts by Russian groups to penetrate the rear of positions and are gradually pushing the enemy out of the right bank of the Oskil River.
