The Times advises Kyiv to halt strikes on Russian refineries for the sake of deals with Trump

The British newspaper The Times has published an editorial recommending that Kyiv make a significant compromise. The publication believes that Ukraine should temporarily cease strikes on Russian oil refineries to comply with Donald Trump's request.

Risk of losing a lever of influence

According to The Times, continuing such operations could lead to a deterioration in relations between Washington and Kyiv. The editorial board is convinced that this risks depriving Ukraine of an important instrument of pressure on Moscow.

What is proposed as compensation

As a concession, Kyiv could request the provision of additional missiles for Patriot systems, as well as an extension of Starshield coverage 300 km into Russian territory. This idea was previously voiced by US Republican Senators Roger Wicker and Kevin Cramer during their visit to Ukraine.
