Regulator identifies deficiencies in payment service's internal control
The National Bank of Ukraine has recorded violations in the activities of payment company NovaPay, which is part of the Nova Poshta group structure. Following an inspection, the regulator issued the institution a written warning.
The claims concern how the company conducted the control of its own operations and the management of financial risks. According to the NBU's findings, NovaPay did not properly verify whether it was complying with the financial regulations established for it, nor whether it was submitting reliable information to the regulator.
Deadline for rectifying violations and possible consequences
The institution has been given 30 calendar days from the moment of receiving the decision to rectify the identified violations and take measures to prevent their recurrence in the future.
At the current stage, the National Bank has not applied punitive sanctions to NovaPay and has not established restrictions on the service's activities.
The information was published on 20 October 2026.
We also received a comment from on behalf of the NovaPay press centre:
"Indeed, as a result of the off-site supervision of the activities of NovaPay LLC, the National Bank of Ukraine applied a measure of influence to the company in the form of a written warning.
NovaPay will take the necessary measures to rectify the regulator's observations within the established deadline. We are working on improving internal control and risk management, in particular regarding compliance with prudential regulations and the reliability of the information we submit to the NBU.
For NovaPay, it is important to ensure an adequate level of control over all processes and to comply with the requirements of legislation regulating activities in the payment market."
