Prosecutors of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office have submitted an indictment to court against four individuals who organised and carried out the illegal production and sale of narcotic substances. According to the materials of the criminal proceedings, the initiator of this activity was an 18-year-old young man. He involved his father, a doctor by profession who is an anaesthesiologist, as well as two of his 17-year-old classmates in the crime.
As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, the group operated for five months — from November 2025 to March 2026. During searches, law enforcement agencies seized 164 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances. According to the investigation's estimates, the total value of the seized product exceeds 165 million hryvnia.
To synthesise amphetamine, the criminals set up a laboratory in an outbuilding of a private residential house. Meanwhile, part of the psychotropic substance was produced in the open, using riverbanks for this purpose. The finished product was transported to a rented garage, where it was divided into separate batches and packaged for sale.
Orders were accepted through an online store in the Telegram messenger, and drugs were delivered to buyers from various regions of Ukraine by postal shipments. To conceal their activities, the participants of the scheme used fictitious personal data, and payment for the prohibited goods was received in the form of cryptocurrency.
The range of illegal trade included not only amphetamine. According to investigators, cannabis, MDMA, PVP and precursors were also sold through this network. Law enforcement recorded over 40 cases of the sale of prohibited substances.
The group's activities were uncovered on 28 March 2026. At that time, law enforcement officers caught the defendants in the act of manufacturing a new batch of amphetamine on the bank of the Dniester River near the village of Luka. A few days before this, the criminals had managed to synthesise 17 kg of psychotropic substances.
In addition to the main seized cargo, it was established that the defendants were expecting to receive another postal shipment containing 1.5 kg of PVP. However, due to the delay of the parcel, they did not manage to collect this batch.
Currently, three defendants in the criminal proceedings are in custody. A preventive measure in the form of a personal undertaking has been chosen for the fourth suspect.
