Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils split after eight years of relationship

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina announced the end of her relationship with French tennis player Gael Monfils.

The couple began dating in late 2018. During this time, they experienced a period of separation before resuming their relationship. In 2021, Svitolina and Monfils got married. In total, their relationship lasted about eight years.

The athlete noted that the full-scale war in Ukraine significantly affected her psychological state. According to Svitolina, she felt she was gradually losing herself and would not be able to recover while remaining in the marriage.
