Ahead of the weekend, a significant increase in passenger flow is observed on the Ukrainian-Polish section of the border within Lviv Oblast. This has led to the formation of queues of passenger cars and buses waiting to leave the country. The current situation was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Current traffic statistics

According to border guards, the largest accumulation of vehicles on the exit from Ukraine has been recorded at the following border crossing points:

  • «Шегині» (Shehyni) — 50 cars;
  • «Грушів» (Hrushiv) — 45 cars;
  • «Угринів» (Uhriniv) — 40 cars;
  • «Краківець» (Krakivets) — 40 cars and 15 buses;
  • «Рава-Руська» (Rava-Ruska) — 20 cars;
  • «Нижанковичі» (Nyzhankovychi) — 20 cars and 2 buses;
  • «Смільниця» (Smilnytsia) — 15 cars.

On the entry into Ukraine, queues have been recorded in only one location. At the «Краківець» (Krakivets) border crossing point, 2 buses are waiting to cross the border. There are no vehicle queues for entry into the country at other border crossing points.

Recommendations for drivers

Representatives of the State Border Guard Service urge citizens to take the current level of traffic into account when planning their trips. To avoid long waits, they advise choosing alternative routes and checking up-to-date information on the situation at the border before departure.

At the same time, it is reminded that the number of vehicles in queues may change throughout the day. Therefore, drivers are recommended to monitor news and official sources to obtain the latest data.

It was previously reported that during an air raid alert, border guards suspend the processing of people and vehicles, as well as evacuate citizens from potentially dangerous zones. The State Border Guard Service also explained the procedure for travellers in the event of an attack threat and informed about the consideration of the issue of increasing the number of shelters near border crossing points. Drivers using the «єЧерга» (eCherha) service were reminded of the importance of checking the current rules for the platform's operation, as the mechanism for saving a place depends on the established algorithms.
