Deferral from mobilization is not an automatic pass

Having a deferral from mobilization does not mean that a man automatically has the right to leave Ukraine during martial law. This is reported by "Sudovo-Yurydychna Gazeta". The purpose of the trip, employee status, and documents confirming the right to exit are decisive for crossing the border.

Grounds for crossing the border

An employee of a critical enterprise with a deferral from mobilization may cross the border if there are grounds provided for by legislation. In particular, this refers to business trips. However, a private, tourist, or family trip does not in itself grant such a right.

What documents are required

To confirm the purpose of the trip, the following may be required:

  • a business trip order specifying dates and purpose;
  • an invitation from foreign partners;
  • other documents from the employer.

It is also necessary to confirm the status of a critical enterprise and the validity of the deferral from mobilization.

Errors in documents as a reason for refusal

Exit may be refused due to errors in documents. In particular, problems may arise due to discrepancies in personal data, business trip dates, the name of the enterprise, or other details.

Before travelling, it is advisable to check all documents and ensure they meet the requirements for crossing the border. If border guards refuse exit, one can request a written decision specifying the reasons and, if necessary, appeal it.

Important: specific grounds for exit depend on the current rules for crossing the state border and the circumstances of the specific trip.
