Burnham calls last 24 hours difficult for Ukraine after Trump and Putin agreements

Downing Street reported that UK Prime Minister Burnham characterised the past 24 hours as difficult for Ukraine. This assessment came against the backdrop of agreements reached between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Putin, which provide for the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the US and global markets.

Commitment to sanctions pressure

During a phone call with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Burnham assured that the British government would continue to tighten restrictions against Moscow. He also pledged to take additional measures aimed at weakening Russia's ability to wage war and limiting its military capabilities.

Plans for an in-person meeting

Following the conversation, the parties agreed to meet in person in the coming days to continue negotiations.
