Russian side spread false data on the situation at the front

Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, released information stating that Russian troops had allegedly captured the settlement of Malokaterynivka on the Orikhiv direction. According to him, the occupiers are already five kilometres from the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Ukrainian troops control the settlement

Representatives of the Disinformation Counteraction Centre (CDC) stated that the Russian command's report does not correspond to reality. The settlement of Malokaterynivka is under the control of the Ukrainian army.

Members of the 128th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade "Dike Pole" published video footage shot in the centre of the settlement, indicating the presence of Ukrainian units in the area.

Actual distance to the city

The CDC added that the southern outskirts of Zaporizhzhia are located approximately 25 kilometres from the front line.
